Privacy Policy

I am taking the protection of your personal data seriously. On this website, personal data are only collected if technically necessary. Under no circumstances will the collected data be sold or passed on to third parties for any reason. The following statement gives an overview of how I implement protection and of what data are collected for which purpose.

Access Data

The web server automatically collects and logs the following information, which your browser transmits by default:

  • the IP address of the accessing machine,
  • the date and time of the server request,
  • the website visited,
  • the amount of data sent,
  • the type and version of your browser (and, if applicable, of your operating system), and
  • the referrer URL (the website visited before).

I cannot assign these data to any specific person. The data are not merged with those of other sources. After two weeks, the data are statistically evaluated in an automated fashion and then deleted.

Contacting Me

If you send me an e-mail, I will store it in a mailbox on my mail server. If necessary, I will use your e-mail address and your name to reply. The data transmitted will be used with due care. I will not transmit any data to third parties or market them in any way.

Cookies

My website uses cookies. These are small text files that are stored by your browser to make my website more user-friendly, effective, and secure. The cookies employed are both “session cookies”, which are automatically deleted at the end of your visit, and “tracking cookies”, which are used for web analytics (see below).

Access, Erasure, and Restriction

At any time and free of charge, you have the right of information and access concerning your personal data, their sources and recipients, and the purpose of their processing. You also have the right to rectification, restriction, or erasure of these data. Should you have any further question about the processing or storage of personal data, please feel free to contact me.

Web Analytics

I use the Piwik PRO Analytics Suite as my website analytics software and consent management tool. I collect data about website visitors based on cookies (see also above). The collected information include, e.g., a visitor’s

  • IP address,
  • operating system,
  • browser type and version,
  • browsing activity,

and other information. (If you are interested, take a look at the exact scope of the data collected by Piwik PRO). The software calculates metrics like bounce rate, page views, sessions, and the like to help me understand how my website is used.

Piwik PRO hosts its solution on the cloud-computing platform Microsoft Azure in Germany, the Netherlands, the United States of America, Hong Kong, and at ElastX in Sweden. The data are stored for 14/25 months. Piwik PRO does not share the data with any other sub-processors or third parties and does not use it for its own purposes. For further information, please refer to Piwik PRO’s privacy policy.

The purpose of data processing is analytics and conversion tracking based on your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Opting Out

You may prevent the use of tracking cookies either via the appropriate browser setting (“Do Not Track”) or via deactivating data collection by Piwik PRO here. Please note that completely purging your cookies would also delete the opt-out cookie placed by the second option. This means you would have to deactivate data collection again if you so wished.
